Nightscapes: Nine Stories. Nine Unexpected Journeys.
Updated: Oct 9
In Nightscapes, I’ve assembled nine stories that explore the mysterious, the unexpected, and occasionally the downright ridiculous. Seven venture into the darker corners of imagination, while two take a decidedly humorous detour. After all, there’s only so much suspense a person can endure before needing a good laugh.

Behind the Nine Stories
I’ve always been fascinated by the unexpected. Give me an ordinary person, an ordinary situation, and one extraordinary complication, and my imagination begins working overtime.
That’s the idea behind Nightscapes.
In Whatever Happened at the Lighthouse, the setting itself invites mystery. After all, there’s something wonderfully unsettling about an isolated lighthouse. Especially when things happen that nobody can explain.
Other stories, including Apartment 3N, Spellbound, and Code 10-56 Alpha, take readers on entirely different journeys.
But I haven’t forgotten that readers occasionally need a good laugh.
Made Out of Money and ’Twas a Helluva Night Before Christmas provide the collection’s humorous side. I figured that after putting readers through seven suspenseful adventures, I owed them a little comic relief.
Besides, I’ve always believed that a good laugh is the perfect antidote to a sleepless night.
And if you happen to laugh while checking that the front door is locked, so much the better.
Nine Stories. Nine Unexpected Journeys.
Whether you enjoy a mystery that keeps you guessing, an unexpected twist, or a story that makes you laugh, Nightscapes offers a little of everything.
And remember, the next time something strange happens in your neighborhood, don’t be too quick to dismiss it.
You might just have stumbled into one of my stories.
Happy reading!
